THE COWL DOESN'T MAKE THE MONK
Social rank, qualifications, bank account, house, clothes, jewelry... this is what human beings analize, first of all, to form opinions of others.
But humans have forgotten notions of nobility and spiritual riches, have kept material policy only, without seeing that these forms of the world which is below reflect those of the world which is above.
Clinging only to physical appearances, they have forgotten that wealth, beauty, greatness and material powers are pale reflections of a world infinitely superior that they should strive to achieve.
All of us are called to be patriarchs, in ancient societies the Patriarch was the head of a large family group, with full authority over the descendants. A person who enjoyed great authority, the name by which ancient founders were called.
Elijah, Isaiah, Abraham, Moses, Deborah, Magdalene and Jesus had no clothes, but they were great monks!
